                    Overview

We are a diverse group of more than 300 people.  Our countries of origin include the United States, Nigeria, Haiti, the United Kingdom, Jamaica, Denmark, Canada, Kenya, Bangladesh and many more.  Examples of second languages we speak include American Sign Language, Creole, Spanish and Danish.  Collectively, we are microcosm of the global community who have dedicated ourselves as workers to supporting another diverse population of adults.  On average, we have worked for WCI for more than three years.

We're proud of the difference we make in people's lives.  We've helped an Individual to organize an event to raise money for medical research, helped people get married, reunited people with long lost extended family, introduced people to their culture and cultural activities, and assisted people to learn how to drive and read.

We all strive for some level of professional development.  WCI supports this through training and education.  WCI has arranged for us to attend adult education classes to improve our communication skills.  Others of us (who are not native speakers of American Sign Language) have attended ASL classes.  Several of us have been sponsored by WCI to participate in the Department of Mental Retardation Direct Care Certification Program of the Massachusetts Community Colleges.  In addition, we enjoy a generous benefits package, on-the-job training (including the trademarked HOTSS/DOTSS system) and internal promotion opportunities.
