Individual Supports • Residential Division

About twenty people live in their own apartments with minimal staff support, between three (3) and 40 hours per week. They receive assistance reading their mail, managing their money, shopping, problem solving, maintaining their home and planning social activities, events and vacations.

The Individual Supports Division hosts the WCI Self-Advocacy group that meets monthly and includes a self-run Board of Directors to teach people about their rights, the political process, how to run a group and to have fun. The group has participated in running a booth to sell water on Mayor's Day on the Waltham Comm

on and a tag sale which they organized on their own. In addition in 2008, they ran a car wash with Infinite Detail of Waltham to raise funds for the group to sustain itself.

Our goal has been to provide the services that each Individual or family member may want for their son, daughter or relative. As a result, we are providing support for one Individual in his parent's home.

In 1994, 1996 and 2001 we created a "Home of One's Own" Program with Baybank, now Bank of America. We have assisted four men and women to purchase their own condominiums.
